The Effect of Growing Up with Personality Disordered Mother on Suicidal Behaviour – Infographic

personality disorder of mother

Effects of mothers with personality disorder on their children’s risk of developing suicidal tendencies.

This graph shows the effects mothers with personality disorders have on their children’s suicidal behavior as they get into their teens and then in their adulthood. The graph is self-explanatory, and it can be seen, for example, that mothers with borderline personality disorder (BPD) put their children at the greatest risk of developing a death wish (ie being so unhappy they hope to die), planning suicides (eg when and how to do it) and, also, of actually attempting suicide (either successfully or unsuccessfully).

Related to the above graph, I have written a post entitled :’How Adult Children can Manage Their Relationship with a Parent with BPD’. Please click here if you would like to read it.
